In December 2022, Google made an update which has caused loading issues for the Neon app on Android TV devices, including Sony TV, Google TV and the new Sky Box.
Our team have tried working on a fix and Google have made more recent updates, however unfortunately it’s been unable to be resolved.
When will it be fixed?
Our team are working on an interim hot fix that we hope will be ready soon.
Because the root cause of the issue is an incompatibility with a Google setting, we’ll be rebuilding the Neon app to fix these issues and provide a better Android TV experience. This is a big project that will take our team several months to complete.
What can I do in the mean time?
For now we would recommend either:
- Use the Back button to exit out of the Neon app after you’ve finished watching, this should provide some improvement with the slow loading.
- If the above option doesn’t work for you, you could try casting content to your Android TV or Android TV device (depending on your type of device) until the interim hot fix is live.
